Preliminary Evaluation
For our preliminary task we filmed Luke walking down the C block corridor and into a classroom and then started to talk to me. At the beginning we tried to make it seem tense by adding dramatic music which lasted for the majority of the film and heightened when Luke and i stared at each other, this created the effect that something dramatic was going to happen. However we decided to make the ending very anticlimactic as our film just ends with Luke saying "alright?" we decided to do this for comedic value.
We had used a wide range of shots from mid shots of Luke walking down the corridor, for this we also used a panning shot from Luke's feet to his upper body. we also used a tracking shot of Luke from when he walked across the classroom towards me. we also used close ups and extreme close ups as close ups are a great shot for showing emotion and the extreme close ups were used to create tension. Towards the end we also had a POV shot (from my point of view) looking at Luke we used this because it creates the effect of me and Luke staring at me.
We didn't Pay as much attention to composition as we should have however we did try to get Luke into central positions for the camera. This is because it shows that Luke is the most important character in the shot and that we should be looking at him only.
We found it hard to use a different range of camera shots for example we found it difficult to keep shots steady. Our editing wasn't too bad but it could have been better for example when Luke walks through the door and we then cut to a panning shot, Luke was a bit too far forwards tun he should have been and when we used a panning shot of Luke walking in the corridor when we went to edit it we realised that the camera was shaking which didn't give it the professional shot we were looking for.
